The Showroom began as an independent project to display select pieces, designed and made by Yankee Built as an experiment to move out of the typical format of shop and office combination, which can often feel and be isolated from the design and building communities as well as the general public. For 3 years, Yankee Built experimented with prototype kitchen and cabinetry concepts, as well as furniture designs and modular kitchen designs. The space also served as a backdrop of hosting community events and local art exhibitions. This process has informed our work and continues to broaden our perspectives and our ideas of what is useful and possible in casework and furniture.
