Woodland

2012

A beautiful home set in the South Hills, wooded and lit from the east and west, Woodland had not been reworked in any way since it was first built. Having one of the original architects involved gave this project a sensitivity and a process more like a historical renovation than a typical residential remodel. Equipped with original documents and first hand knowledge of the design and construction, we worked together with the architect to build a sensitive and modern kitchen that was true to the home's original ethos, but also exhibited the evolution of the firm's design thinking. Simply, this kitchen is a time-piece, a rare project that holds the past and the present thinking of the firm and all those involved in its creation.
